Syed first joined Cosmur in 2010 as Business Development Manager before rising through the ranks
to Business Development Director and HR Director in 2014.
Syed’s remit is wide ranging and covers business development in addition to overseeing all tender
and bid work. He is also responsible for identifying new opportunities and nurturing a pipeline of
strategies for work alongside building relationships with clients, framework providers, consultants,
marketing and human resources:
“What I really love is that every day is different in construction. From the very start of my career in
marketing and fundraising for local authorities, it’s been challenging and most satisfying in equal
measure. The team work aspect, with everyone pulling together to build something, is amazing. I
often drive past buildings and say ‘We built that!’ to my kids, and that’s the point – there is so much
more to creating a building than just laying the bricks.”
